Steve Brewer
Steve has 20 years of experience leading technology and business development teams, spanning global business information services, non-profit, and manufacturing sectors. Steve works for FONA International, which creates and manufactures flavors for many of the largest food, beverage, neutraceutical, and pharmaceutical companies in the world. FONA has been on the Inc. 5,000 fastest growing companies list for the last four years, and has been awarded as one of “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” for the fifth year in a row. Steve is responsible for driving business revenues and profitability through technology alignment, and for facilitating a collaboration strategy through implementations of Enterprise 2.0 platforms. Steve has a Masters in Business Certificate from University of Illinois Chicago, and a BS in Mass Communications from the University of Iowa.
Alain Coubebaisse
As CIO, Alain is responsible for all aspects of the Newedge IT function including IT strategy, systems and infrastructure, and IT security and controls. His mission is to lead the global IT team in partnership with Newedge business leadership to deliver cost effective technology services and capabilities to Newedge customers.
Alain joined Fimat Paris in March 1999 as IT manager for the Paris office and moved to London in July 2005 as CIO for Fimat Europe. In January 2008 he became Global Head of CSTP for Newedge before taking on the role of Global Head of Infrastructure in April 2009.

Michael Gabriel
Michael Gabriel has been employed by Career Education Corporation, a $1.8B for-profit, post-secondary education services company, since 2004 when he was tasked with building an information security program from the ground up. Michael came to CEC from a background in the global investment banking industry, where he provided security management and engineering since 1995. He has also practiced in the security consulting field, including a stint as an interim security director for an Internet banking startup. Michael is sought out for speaking engagements on information security topics and is a frequent contributor to security-related articles.

Praveen Gupta

Praveen is the author of several books including Business Innovation in the 21st Century, The Innovation Solution, A Complete and Balanced Service Scorecard, and Stat Free Six Sigma.

Praveen teaches Innovation classes at Illinois Institute of Technology and University of Illinois, Chicago. As a Director of the Center for Innovation Science and Applications at IIT School of Applied Technology he is leading advances in innovation science. Praveen’s company, Accelper Consulting, offers training and consulting in Six Sigma and Innovation.

Praveen frequently speaks at conferences or meetings internationally on the topics of Six Sigma, Process Excellence, Business Scorecard, and Business Innovation. He is the founding editor of the International Journal of Innovation Science.

Mark Hattas

Mark Hattas co-founded Geneca in 1998 as a young, 26-year old entrepreneur. Today, as Geneca’s CEO, he is at the helm of one of the fastest growing IT services firms in the Chicago region.  Geneca is a trusted technology partner to many Fortune 1000 companies and a destination workplace for Chicago’s brightest IT professionals. Mark is a charismatic leader widely respected for his commitment to his clients, employees, community, and family.  With a career largely devoted to raising the bar on the delivery standards of IT services firms, Mark and his team work passionately to help IT organizations predictability deliver business value. Mark is an active member of the Board of Directors for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, i.c.stars, and the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation. He is the recipient of a Young Executives Award and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist. He has led Geneca to its receipt of  numerous awards including the Inc. 5000, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce’s Workplace Excellence Award, and Crains Best Workplaces.  Mark is an invited speaker on topics such as Generational Theory, business and innovation strategy, and the role of IT in delivering business value.

Sony Jacob
As Vice President and CIO Sony Jacob is responsible for driving the Strategic direction of Tecta’s technology organization. An entrepreneur at heart Sony joined Tecta in December of 2004 to build the Information technology group; he was instrumental in developing the design of our corporate data center and connectivity to our 50 operating location. Over the last 4 years he has spear headed our Navision ERP rollout, to provide strategic leverage for Tecta across the different business functions of finance, operations, service and sales. Before joining Tecta Sony held technology leadership roles at Caremark Inc and The Terlato wine group. Mr. Jacob has an electrical engineering degree from Mangalore University India, holds a Masters in technology management from DeVry University, and has obtained his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. Lastly, Sony is a certified member of the PMI organization since 2005.

Vincent A. Marin
Vince is the Chief Information Office at Huron Consulting Group. As CIO, Vince is responsible for all of Huron’s Information Technology services, globally. Even in his 2nd year in the role at Huron, the vision and strategy he is implementing is having terrific impact and receiving very good reviews for the transformation of the IT group and the collective impact of IT in Huron’s corporate life and service to clients.
Prior to joining Huron, Vince was with McKinsey & Company for 16 years in 5 different roles, the last of which was as Regional CIO for the Americas region. At McKinsey, Vince transformed IT services from being very local, disjointed, and ineffective with varying standards, to a`true 7x24, consistently high quality, always on (IT)’ regional/global model to serve the very mobile, always on, global user population. He ensured IT services fully supported the evolving needs of the world’s leading strategy consulting firm, and significantly increased user satisfaction even while lowering costs steadily. He was also a key player in technology enabling the growth of the firm during this period, established several critical new IT service offerings for the benefit of its worldwide user population and clients. A much sought after people developer and leader, Vince was also the recipient of McKinsey’s prestigious Marvin Bower Values award which recognizes distinctive client service, fostering an inclusive, non-hierarchical work environment and striving to improve the overall quality of the firm.
Vince has a Masters in Management Information Systems and a M.B.A. He is a passionate mentor to many and is very actively involved in a number of charitable and civic causes in the U.S. and abroad.

David Mayor
David Mayor is the Chief Information Officer for the City of Rochester, NY. Prior to joining the City of Rochester, Mr. Mayor owned and operated a management consulting practice specializing in Strategic Planning, Business Process Re-Engineering and ERP deployments. During his tenure as a management consultant he developed a software solution for Strategic Planning and Business Process Re-Engineering. He also held a senior management position at Celltech, where he was responsible for strategic planning and PMO. While at Celltech, he led an enterprise-wide SAP initiative to support their global supply chain trategy. Mr. Mayor also spent several years at Mobil and was responsible for Mobil Chemical’s IT operation in Canada.
Dave Matthews
David Matthews is currently the Senior Vice President of Technology and Operations and CIO at the National Restaurant Association. He is managing the Association’s strategic initiative to streamline business operations and more effectively manage the technology platform. Matthews is also working with a coalition of associations to streamline the PCI DSS process and heads the National Restaurant Association’s IT Executive Study Group which serves as a sounding board for industry technology issue.
Previously he was a Senior Vice President and CIO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago where hemanaged all of the Bank’s IT resources and personnel. Until October, 2003, Matthews was President and Chief Operating Officer of RBC Mortgage Company, one of the nation’s leading residential mortgage companies. RBC, a division of Royal bank of Canada, originated over $30 billion in retail and wholesale production in 2003. Mr. Matthews was responsible for production, operations, secondary marketing, risk management and finance at RBC.

Phil McEntee
Phil is a founding member, co-developer, managing principal and lead facilitator for Technology Executive Network, Inc., a for profit organization of Chief Information Officers of leading companies in the Chicago area, established in 1997.  Prior to his current responsibilities with Technology Executive Network, Phil held a number of progressively more responsible management positions in accounting and finance with Fashionaire Apparel, Inc. (a subsidiary of Hartmarx Corp.), a leading manufacturer and distributor of tailored career apparel and uniforms marketed primarily to the fast food and transportation industry Fortune 500 accounts, where he was promoted to Vice President of Finance.  Prior to joining Fashionaire Apparel, Inc., Phil was a Senior Internal Auditor for Hart Schaffer & Marx Corporation (now Hartmarx Corp.) where he served as lead auditor for financial and operational audits of the retail and manufacturing subsidiaries.  Phil received his BA in Accounting & Business Administration from Augustana College and in 1984 passed the CPA Exam. He completed several MBA courses at University of Illinois, Chicago. Phil completed the TDG, Inc. Leadership Learning Forum in 2002. Phil and his wife, Lisa, live in Naperville, IL with their daughter.

John Payton

John Payton has over 20 years experience in IT. He started out in an entry level role and by the age of 39, he had worked his way up to Director of IT. Along the way he (and his teams) have been recognized for their achievements winning many industry awards. John has a Masters Degree in Business and has worked in the following industries: Distribution, Manufacturing, Health Care, and Financial services. John is one of those rare individuals who has a deep understanding of  business processes, technology, and people.

Guy Thier
Guy Thier is the Chief Information Officer at Bally Total Fitness. Bally is among the largest full-service commercial operators of fitness centers in North America in terms of members, revenues and square footage of its facilities. Bally fitness centers are concentrated in major metropolitan areas in 25 states and the District of Columbia, with 274 fitness centers located in the top 25 metropolitan areas in the United States. As CIO, Guy is responsible for creating and executing Bally’s technology vision to support Bally’s market strategy. Guy’s agenda includes the use of emerging technologies to uniquely position Bally in the marketplace, streamlining technology and business processes, and developing a highly effective work force.
Prior to joining Bally in 2003, Guy worked for Empowered Software Solutions as a management consultant where served clients including Sears, US Filter, and Jays. The engagements included leading the implementation of store systems, enterprise application integration, supply chain, distribution and logistics, and IT transformation. Prior to joining Empowered, Guy held VP of IT positions at Linc Capital and Chernin’s Shoes.
Guy holds a Bachelor degree in computer science from Lewis University.

Lac Tran is Senior Vice President and CIO of Information Services at Rush University Medical Center.  He speaks widely on CIO and healthcare topics.

Vito Trifiletti, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Trifiletti has held numerous leadership positions in the information services functions of consumer products and food manufacturing companies since 1995.  He began his career with Borden Foods, Inc. before moving to Kraft Foods Global, Inc. where he led large I.S. teams across North America, Latin America, Asia/Pacific and the European Union.  He has deep technical experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Database Management, Business Intelligence Analytics as well as Knowledge Management and On-line Collaboration technologies. He joined Preferred Meal Systems/The Maramont Corporation in 2007. Mr. Trifiletti is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Society for Information Management and holds a bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Jim Vaselopulos
Jim Vaselopulos is a seasoned business executive with domain expertise in Financial Services, Marketing, Manufacturing and Service Industries. Jim works closely with many firms to help align business needs and technology for competitive advantage. His many roles include Senior Vice President at PSC Group, LLC, interim CIO at several organizations and strategic business consultant to many others. His speaking engagements include regional executive events, various podcasts, industry organizations and technology-centric educational institutions such as the University of Illinois. Jim holds an Engineering degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Marquette University.

Dave Zolnier
David Zolnier is the Senior Solutions Architect for Sentinel Technologies.  Previously, he was an Enterprise Solutions Architect for Heartland Business Systems' Illinois team and brings over 16 years of diverse IT experience to his role. Most recently, he served as the CIO at Indian Prairie School District #204 in Naperville/Aurora and led many virtualization efforts for this organization. His blend of high-level understanding of the organizational, operational and financial benefits of virtualization combined with a deep technical knowledge of the implementation, management and strategic impact of these technologies has allowed him to shape the direction and overall benefit for his numerous customers at Heartland Business Systems. He holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from The University of South Florida, is a published technical writer, sits on numerous national technology board of advisors and has keynoted many presentations and events around virtualization, innovation and IT optimization technologies.
