Ben Bayle
Ben is the Computer and Information System Manager for the DeKalb School District #428 in DeKalb Illinois. He has been working in the K-12 IT industry for over a decade. Ben has background in virtualization of infrastructure since 2005. He has been running a Virtual Desktop Deployment for over a year. The deployment runs on vMware ESX 4.1 as the hypervisor, XenDesktop 5.5 is the VDI broker. This deployment is running on Cisco UCS blade architecture and NetApp FAS3210 SAN storage. The interconnects run through a Cisco Nexus 7K in the MDF to 10gig interconnections in the IDFS. The thin client in the deployment is WYSE R10L's.
Mark Gierke
Mark is the National Pre-Sales Technical Solutions Specialist for dinCloud responsible for providing awareness and consultation for customers to understand the challenges and benefits associated with migrating to the cloud and helping organizations develop and implement a comprehensive cloud transformation strategy.

Mark is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience and has worked for other leading firms in technical sales roles such as AT&T, McAfee and Computer Associates.

Elias Khnaser
Elias is the virtualization and cloud computing practice manager for Sigma Solutions. In this capacity he draws on over 12 years of experience architecting some of the largest server-based computing environments in the world. As Sigma Solutions’ virtualization practice manager, Elias advises clients on all aspects of virtualization—from server to desktop, all the way through application virtualization. Prior to helping found Sigma Solutions, Elias worked for some of the country’s leading Fortune 500 companies managing teams responsible for environments as small as 2,500 users and as large as 14,000 users. In addition to his role at Sigma, Elias is a recognized industry analyst, speaker, published author, and frequent blogger at publications such as InformationWeek. His publications include: VMware ESX Server 3.0 & 3.5 CBT, VCP Exam Cram: VMware Certified Professional; Exam Cram: Citrix CCA MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 and 4.0 (Exams 223/256) (co-author); MCSE Designing Security for a Windows Server 2003 Network: Exam 70-298 Study Guide and DVD Training System (co-author); Citrix MetaFrame XP Including Feature Release 1 (co-author). Elias has a bachelor of science in business marketing from the Lebanese American University and holds numerous industry certifications from Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Cisco, and other leading vendors.


David Klauser
As the Senior vAM for VCE supporting the IL mid-market, Klauser is responsible for the delivery of next generation Converged & Hyper-Converged Solutions transforming the economics, agility and profitability of enterprises as they transition to SDN and hybrid cloud-enabled business models.
Over twenty years Klauser has aligned with data center pioneers, end-user computing innovators and enterprise software providers including RES Software, Microsoft, Dell, EMC, VMware and Cisco. Klauser built a team that developed Chicago’s first data storage integrator, and has developed a network of global alliances, National DMR’s and regional partners as well as M&A and investor lead restructuring.
Klauser graduated from The University of Minnesota with a BA in Economics and has three daughters and his son who range from a junior in high school to his youngest 4th grader in Naperville.

Jeanne Morain
Jeanne Morain is Director of Strategic Alliances for Flexera Software. Prior to joining Flexera Software, Jeanne held various executive roles in marketing, strategic alliance and product management positions with VMware and BMC (Marimba). She has over 15 years experience in Systems Management, Virtualization and Cloud Computing implementing solutions for millions of users across fortune 2000 companies (Enterprise and ISVs). Jeanne is best known for her customer/partner centric approach to research and solutions. Ms. Morain is noted as one of the early pioneers of Business Service Management (BMC) and Universal Client (VMware) market definitions. She is a recognized industry speaker (VMworld, Interop, CloudSlam, IATAM, Upcon, User Conferences, SoftSummit, Trade Magazines, and Blogs) on Compliance, Business Service Management, Desktop Transformation to Universal Clients, Virtualization, and Cloud Computing. Ms. Morain has won numerous awards for her innovative work around virtualization, cloud and compliance including the prestigious Cambridge Who’s Who lifetime achievement award. Geary Smith
Geary is the Director of End User Services for McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois. He has been working for McHenry County College Information Technology since 1998. He worked as a PC and Network Technician before becoming a Director in 2008. He is a member of the ICCCA Technology Commission. Currently, Geary is the Project Manager for his institution‘s Desktop Virtualization plan. The plan includes a three-year transition from a 100% fat client environment to one that will have 40% thin clients in production, virtual application delivery and a versatile virtual environment for the College’s satellite Business Training Center. WYSE thin clients, Citrix XenApp and XenDestop, AppSense client and user preference delivery, Dell server and EquaLogic SANS, and VMWare ESX are some of the technologies being utilized for this project.
Nick Timmerman
Nick received both his undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems and his MBA from Wright State University. He has been employed with Midmark Corporation for over 13 years as a programmer analyst, technical support manager, and is currently the manager of enterprise infrastructure. Midmark’s enterprise infrastructure includes the network, telecommunications, server, and database administrators, PC technicians, and the IT service desk.

Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. They enjoy camping, museums, bike riding, swimming, sports, and competitive shooting.
Lee Vande Voort
Lee Vande Voort is the Chief Information Officer at Central College in Pella, Iowa. He received his M.B.A. from Drake University, and has devoted his career to technology management and innovation in higher education. Mr. Vande Voort has been active in the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, as well as Educause. Central College has recent experience implementing desktop virtualization using Microsoft and Quest technologies.
