Jason Adair
Jason is the Area Director at NetIQ.
John Bandy
John has over 30 years of Information Technology experience. For the last 10 years he has focused his efforts in the Information Security realm. He holds a Master of Science degree in Information Security and Assurance from Western Governors University. He is also a member of Infragard, holds a CISSP as well as many other IT certifications. John is currently the Information Services Security Officer at Memorial Health System in Springfield Illinois. Memorial has over 6,000 employees, 3 hospitals, 20 clinics and 3 express care facilities. Some of his recent accomplishments include Intrusion Detection, Laptop Encryption, Email Encryption, Centralized Logging and developing a Governance, Risk and Compliance Framework.
Joseph Burkard
Joe Burkard is currently the Director of Global IT Security and Risk Management at Baxter International. In this role Joe is responsible for the Global IT Security strategy, policies and governance; Continuity and application recovery; and IT Operations Risk assessment, risk management and reporting. He has over 15 years experience as an Information Technology Risk Consultant, IT Auditor and Information Security practitioner, and he has worked with multiple industries and organizations including Arthur Andersen LLP, Protiviti Inc. and Miller Brewing. Joe is a CISA, CISM and CISSP and is currently pursuing his MBA at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He has previously been a featured speaker at the ISACA 2004 CACS and 2006 Security Management conferences.
Chris Cronin
Chris Cronin is a Principal Consultant at Halock Security Labs in Schaumburg, IL in the Governance and Strategy Practice. Chris joined Halock after 15 years in IT leadership roles in operations, forensics and audit for private and public companies.

Chris’ involvement in regulatory compliance has a unique path, starting from forensic investigation at Enron, to bringing the first U.S. public company into compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, to now guiding companies toward compliance with Massachusetts CMR 17.00, HIPAA, ISO 27001, EU Safe Harbor, Sarbanes Oxley, PCI DSS and many other laws and regulations.

Chris is a certified GCIH and ISO 27001 Auditor, and holds a Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University. He has served the SANS Institute on advisory boards and by developing course material for Audit and DLP.
Erik Devine
Erik has been in the field of technology for over 18 years with the last 12 years focused on Information Security and Compliance. Most of Erik's experience is from the financial district working with community and regional banks, and recently has shifted into Healthcare. He currently holds the position as the Chief Security Officer at Riverside HealthCare.
In his role Erik manages corporate wide Information Security Policies and Systems, Networking, Wireless, Mobility and Telecommunications. Prior to the Information Technology field, Erik studied Classical Piano Performance at De Paul University.
Matt Jonkman
Concurrent with his position as Chief Technology Officer at Emerging Threats, Matt is the President of the Open Information Security Foundation (OISF), a non-profit funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and industry partners to build a next-generation IDS/IPS engine. He founded Emerging Threats, formerly known as Bleeding Snort/Bleeding Threats in 2003. Matt spent five years in the Army as an Air Traffic Control RADAR and Communications Tech, attended ISU and the Rose-Hulman Institute, and has over 10 years experience in security consulting in the telecom and financial sectors.

Fred Kwong

Dr. Fred Kwong has been in the information technology field for the past 15 years in working in education, financial, and telecommunication sectors. Fred currently works at a Farmers Insurance where he currently is the Global Head of Privileged Access Control. Fred is currently building a new program seeking to govern, control, and profile privileged identities throughout the enterprise.
Fred’s work includes the creation of security and privacy policies, standards, and procedures. He is a subject matter expert in PCI, leading organizations to pass their report on compliance. With an extensive background in IT technologies, Fred continues to challenge the status quo by providing guidance in security and network architecture creating holistic designs that align to todays’ threat vector for organizations.
Fred has a passion of combining IT skills with organization development values. His broad range of IT skills has allowed him to view IT from many different paradigms and present them to the business partners in an easy to understand language. Fred servers as an adjunct professor at Benedictine and Roosevelt University teaching courses in international business, organization behavior, project management, and information systems. He holds a Ph.D. from Benedictine University and earned his master’s degree in business administration from Roosevelt University. Fred is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), and a PCI Professional (PCIP).

E. Larry Lidz
E. Larry Lidz is the Chief Information Security Officer for CNA Insurance. He oversees CNA's information security program and ensures that cyber risks are appropriately managed. He has more than 17 years of experience in information security across many security disciplines including vulnerability and threat management, incident response, security architecture, policies, compliance, and business continuity management. Larry has a proven track record of applying practical risk management techniques to security issues to ensure appropriate risk disposition while maintaining an appropriate balance between user experience and control discipline.

Prior to joining CNA, Larry led the University of Chicago's security organization. He holds a B.S. from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree from Northwestern University.
Kevin Miller
Kevin Miller is Director, IT Risk Management for ULTA Inc. in Bolingbrook, IL. During his 30 year career, he has led IT security teams within the travel (United Airlines, Apollo Travel Services), financial (CNA Insurance, Nuveen Investments) and retail (Sears, ULTA) industries. His responsibilities have encompassed physical security, information security, disaster recovery, business continuity and IT audit / regulatory compliance. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude from Upper Iowa University and has previously held CISSP, CISM and CDRP certifications. He is a member of ISSA, InfraGard and the CISO Dinner Group. His expertise is in prioritizing and establishing effective IT risk management programs as well as developing the technical staff to build and maintain them.
Joe Morin
Joe Morin serves as senior manager of partner enablement for Barracuda Networks, Inc., the go-to leader for powerful yet easy-to-use and affordable IT solutions. In this role, he is responsible for developing the technical partner enablement program for worldwide channel partners, focusing on strategic partners to ensure their pre- and post-sales engineers are effective, competent and confident in positioning, closing and servicing Barracuda solutions. He also is charged with the strategic design and implementation of the company's professional services organization. Morin brings a diverse set of experience in worldwide channel sales, partner enablement, professional services, sales engineering, and successful entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Barracuda, Morin served as senior manager of worldwide partner enablement for Websense, where he was responsible for building a go-to-market strategy for selecting, enabling, and supporting partners. Prior to that, he founded and owned an IT consulting organization specializing in server consultation, web design, development and marketing, where he grew the company to more than 50 employees with more than 3000 clients globally. Before starting his own business, Morin held a variety of technology-related positions with IKON, Harris Interactive, and Xerox, where he was responsible for a global IT consolidation project where he architected and managed the deployment of the Storage Area Network which houses the file and email data for the entire organization. Morin graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Randy Oppenborn
Randy Oppenborn joined DeVry in 2012 as an experienced IT leader with security, GRC, audit, operations, identity services and finance experience. Randy has a long track record of successfully leading teams, evaluating controls, designing and implementing process improvement initiatives and implementing solutions. As an individual with a broad range of business and IT experience, he is always taking on new challenges to help organizations realize excellence and value.

Prior to joining DeVry, Randy was the Director, IT Security Governance at Career Education Corporation where he was accountable for GRC, IT Audit, IT policy management and change management. He also has valuable technology and business experience working with companies of all sizes in a variety of industries including; USG, Follett Higher Education Group, DePaul University, Prudential, Atlas Financial Holdings, Inc. and the Office of the Special Deputy Receiver. Randy has a B.S.B.A in Finance from Creighton University and an M.B.A from Aurora University.

Nick Schmidt

Nick Schmidt is currently the senior manager of CDW’s Information Technology, overseeing IT infrastructure Services. Mr. Schmidt’s organization encompasses Telecommunications, Network Services, System Engineering, IT Security, and Data Center Services. He is a 30-year I.T. veteran. with extensive experience leading organizations ranging from domestically focused operations to multi-million dollar global technology organizations.  Prior to CDW, Mr. Schmidt has served in multiple capacities in private and publically held companies primarily focusing on infrastructure excellence. With extensive experience gained from within major telecommunications providers as well as leading consumers of telecommunications services, Mr. Schmidt brings a wealth of information to his perspective.

Michael Smith
Michael Smith is a security consultant for ePlus Security. A ten-year veteran of the IT industry, he has a diverse background covering security, infrastructure, offensive, and defensive security. Michael is currently a Doctoral candidate at Capital College. He holds his Masters of Science in Information Assurance and several certifications including his CISSP, OSCP, GPEN, and Security+. When not testing or securing the enterprise, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, learning new skills, research, and going to Disney World.
Asad Syed
Asad has over 24 years of hands-on experience in information security, security architecture and digital forensics of which last 15 years of experience in the USA. He has successfully managed complex large technical projects with documented deliverables in more than one fortune 500 corporations. His understanding of both UNIX and Microsoft’s present day technologies and threats puts him into the bleeding edge in designing and Strategizing Information Security & Architecture to meet precise business needs. In the last 15 plus years in USA, Asad has worked in various positions for Dean Witter Discover, IBM Global Services, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, McDonald's Corporation and now leading the IT Security & Architecture at OfficeMax.  
Cliff Tamplin
Cliff has held a variety of roles with major global corporations including Barclays, M&M Mars, Diageo, Northwest Airlines and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. These roles have spanned application design and development; infrastructure architecture and operations; and information security.
Cliff has been with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts for over five years and is currently VP of IT, responsible for technical services and information security for Hyatt’s 480+ hotels in 40+ countries. Hyatt is an early adopter of the concepts of cloud computing and has moved the majority of its systems to “as a service” providers. Having run many large data centers in the past, Cliff is enjoying the challenges of operating in this new paradigm.
Cliff is originally from England and has worked in various countries in Europe and Asia prior to and since relocating to the USA. Cliff is a pilot who flies search and rescue missions for the Civil Air Patrol. He has two grown sons who have followed him into the IT business and is married to Sally who practices homeopathy.
Oliver Tang
Oliver Tang joined ACCO Brands in April 2015 as the Director of IT Global Security. He spent six years establishing and executing security risk management and compliance programs at a major private wholesaler. He has over 10 years experience testing systems, applications and infrastructure for security risks and vulnerabilities for Fortune and Global 500 companies. Oliver has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, a MBA in Finance, and security-related certifications such as CISSP, CISA, and GIAC /GPPA.
